Ingredients

Topping:

2 cu. brown sugar
1 cu. butter
½ cu. water
Raisins and Walnuts (if desired)

Directions

After dough is prepared and has risen, punch down and let rest for about 10 minutes. On a floured surface, roll out the dough until about ¼" thick. Smear top of the dough with butter or margarine. Sprinkle generously with sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle with raisins. Now, starting at one of the narrow ends, roll up the dough, pinching ends to keep in the filling. Carefully, with a sharp knife, slice the dough into 12 pieces.

While the dough is rising, prepare the topping.

Heat sugar, butter and water over low heat. When butter is melted, bring to a boil, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute. Pour topping into the bottom of baking pan. Sprinkle topping with raisins and nuts.

When dough is prepared and cut, place pieces on top of topping. Allow to rise until about doubled (about 30-45 minutes).

Bake at 350F for about 45 minutes, or until top of buns are golden brown. VERY CAREFULLY, invert buns while still hot over the top of a larger tray. Remove baking pan, carefully, and allow buns to cool a bit.
