Firecracker Shrimp or Chicken
The secret really is the sauce. I believe you can easily use breaded shrimp or breaded chicken tenders or nuggets. I will note the recipe for the shrimp coating though.
If using frozen breaded shrimp or chicken just follow directions for oven or use an air fryer (air fryer being my preference).
Ingredients
1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined - about 25
Salt and pepper
1/2 cup cornstarch
2 large eggs, beaten
About 1/4 cup vegetable oil
Sauce
1/2 cup sweet chili garlic sauce.
3T lemon juice
2T honey
1/2 t Sriracha
1/2 t grated ginger
1/2 t garlic salt
Directions
Shrimp
Sprinkle shrimp with salt and pepper
Lightly toss shrimp in the cornstarch
Dip shrimp individually in beaten egg. Add shrimp to heated oil. Don’t crowd the shrimp
Cook until golden brown - about 2-3 minutes
Set cooked shrimp aside.
Wipe out skillet.
Combine all sauce ingredients. Bring sauce to a boil and simmer 2-3 minutes.
Return shrimp to skillet and coat with the sauce.
