Toad in a Hole
Yorkshire pudding surrounds baked sausages in this Americanized British recipe. Fun to make!
Ingredients
Toad in a Hole
1 cup + 1T flour
1t salt
4 eggs
3\4 cup + 1T milk
1 lb. Sausages - Bratwurst works really well
2T oil
Easy Brown Gravy
2 cups beef broth
⅛ cup black coffee
1½t Worcestershire sauce
2T corn starch
Directions
put flour and salt in bowl. Whisk in the milk and the eggs. Set aside for an hour.
Put sausages in baking dish and pour 2T of oil over them.
Bake sausages at 400 for about 25 Minutes. Remove from oven and pour the batter right over the sausages. Do not drain the grease from the baking dish.
Return to the oven for another20 minutes.
