Pasta Pasta Cheezy ReheatForever Sauces

Ingredients

2T olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 small diced onion
1 lb sausage, bulk
1 lb.ground beef
2 - 14 oz can diced tomatoes
1 qt. tomato sauce - if I don’t feel like making my own sauce, I do like Ragu for this recipe.
1t Italian seasoning
¼t red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper
1 lb. cooked ziti
Ricotta cheese - 15 oz
1 1/2 Lbs. Grated Mozzarella
Grated parmesan
2 eggs

Directions

Heat olive oil. Add onion and garlic and saute for a few minutes. add sausage and beef and cook until brown. drain off most of the fat.
Now add tomatoes and tomato sauce, salt, pepper, Italian seasonings and red pepper flakes. Stir and simmer for 30 minutes. Now remove about 3-4 cups of the sauce and set aside to cool down.
Preheat oven to 375.
In separate bowl mix the ricotta, about 2 cups mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, salt and pepper.
Cook and drain pasta. Rinse with some cool water.
Pour the pasta into the bowl of cheese mixture. Add the cooled meat sauce and stir to combine.
Spoon half the pasta mixture into a casserole dish. Top with sauce and then sprinkle with mozzarella.
Repeat layers.
Bake about 30 minutes - uncovered.
Let stand about 5 minutes before serving.
